Resolution: What Should We do to Improve the Quality of Our Environment?

According to EDF, The Clean Air Act is considered one of the most effective pieces of national legislation ever passed in this country since it was adopted in 1970. Nitrogen oxides in our air have gone down 39%, sulfur dioxide has dropped 63%, and lead 98%. Over the same period, the economy has boomed. Gross Domestic Product rose 20%, and productivity 100%. The Clean Air Act has delivered $30 of economic benefits for every $1 invested in pollution controls.
We should create more programs for reducing coal burning and limit the amount of greenhouse gasses emitted into the air. Finding alternative sources of power (i.e. for gas, electricity, etc.). Putting our tax money into solar power and wind energy. Investing in nuclear power, but regulating it regularly so we don't have a repeat of Japan.
